New beginnings

'Do not wait until the conditions are perfect to begin. Beginning makes the conditions perfect.' - Alan Cohen
I’m not quite sure how to inaugurate this, but I suppose there’s no better way than to simply say—hello.
Whether you already know me or this is your first time coming across this blog, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sami, from London and pretty much just a chill guy. In terms of what I do for a living, I work in tech, although I studied International Relations at university. I have a wide range of interests, which you’ll come to learn about over time. I think it’s only fitting to leave a bit of mystery—can’t reveal everything in the first blog post now, can we?
Now, onto the main reason you’re here. You’re probably wondering: What is this blog about? What will be discussed? Who is it for?
Allow me to explain a bit more about this new project I’m embarking on and what I hope to achieve with it.
I want each blog post to be an 8–10 minute read—something short, yet informative. Something you can open and enjoy wherever you are: on your morning commute, sitting on a park bench, or in the car waiting for that one friend who swore they’d be “ready” 15 minutes ago.
So, what can you expect from this blog?
Each month, I plan to invite someone from my network to write a piece about a topic from their life or profession that offers something meaningful or thought-provoking. It might be something they’re passionate about that can teach the reader something new, or simply a compelling subject we think you’ll find interesting.
The direction I want to head in is one that brings together voices from diverse fields and backgrounds, so that the content on this blog can broad and varied—offering something that piques everyone interests.
I’ll also be writing my own pieces, which I hope to publish on a biweekly basis. I currently have a few posts in the works on travel, language, and technology—three of my main interests. I’m really looking forward to sharing them, not only because they reflect my personal passions, but also because I believe these areas are some of the most significant forces shaping the world we live in today.
My goal is to grow this into a space with at least 100 active readers by January 2026.
This is Epoch Writers, a brand new site by Sami Rasooli that's just getting started. Things will be up and running here shortly, but you can subscribe in the meantime if you'd like to stay up to date and receive emails when new content is published!
